Daniel Dudt and his rink of Cameron Vike, Phil Mack and Cody Clouser took top honors at the Philadelphia Junior Bonspiel. Daniel and Cameron, having just returned from a very impressive 7 and 2 second place finish at the Youth Olympic Trials in North Dakota, continued their excellent play with their junior men’s playdown teammates. Twelve teams competed in the bonspiel with representatives from Nutmeg, Potomac, Plainfield, Arsley and of course Philly. The Dudt rink’s win in the final came over another junior men’s playdown team skipped by Tyler Oliver of Philadelphia and teammates Miles Hogarth (Nutmeg), Justin Arndt (Nutmeg) and Sean Tredinnick (Philly).
The second event was also between two junior playdown teams with the Ardsley/Philadelphia rink of Andrew Stopera, Steven Szemple and Andy Dunnam defeating the Philadelphia/Nutmeg rink of Sarah Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Abbey Suslavich and Kate Shickel (who nicely filled in for the missing teammates from Wisconsin).
The third event was won by the Potomac rink of Eli Clawson, Arlo Miles and Zachery Blough over the Plainfield rink of Zach Henderson, Meghan Hrinkevich and Mary Hrinkevich.
The first event consolation event was won by the Potomac rink of Gilad Kempenich, Hunter Clawson, Caleb Clawson and Becky Vanarsdall over the Philadelphia rink of Jack Biemer, Stephen Shickel, Harry Tredinnick and Tessa Posey.
Lynn Clouser, the event co-ordinator, is very appreciative of the great support she received this year from parents and other members of the club.
